Kino Roland
Over three weekends in October, we will reclaim the former sex cinema Roland on Langstrasse with artistic contributions on the themes of (Desire) (Bodies) (Identities). Through an open call, we have invited artists, performers, filmmakers and researchers to fill the space with new life and ideas. The changing exhibition will be accompanied by live performances, panel discussions, film screening and artist talks to create a space for discourse and critique. We aim to create an aware, welcoming and safer space where people can respectfully interact and exchange notions around intersectional feminism in public space.

When two souls fall in love, there is this moment: they lie next to each other in the dark and do not even want to stop telling things. In a cold world that declares everything to be a commodity, people can also buy this moment. Those who lie sleepless in bed can use the service to get a telephonic companion through nocturnal loneliness. The women remain vocal avatars, tank for the needs of the men.

Accorps is an exhibition of monthly Geneva performances wich explores body representation in urban spaces. Aiming to express, make visible and legitimize people who are victims of gender-based discrimination.

The installation is about reclaiming one's roots - it is a reflection on the loss of home, be it through war, gentrification or natural disasters.

This collectively curated feminist film programme showcases desire from different perspectives: Joy, sensuality, having a crush and questions of home and belonging.

Who doesn't like memes? 👻 Memes, often characterized by their humorous and viral nature, have become a ubiquitous form of online expression, shaping the way we engage with and understand contemporary issues. 📱 But beyond the laughs, memes can also serve as powerful tools for literacy, advocacy and activism with their unique ability to distil complex issues into easily digestible content, reach wide audiences and spark vital conversations.

The work wants to investigate the difference between care and love. This show wants to be a multidisciplinary discourse of the impossible separation between body, mind and non-human to face the complex reality that we live where we live with the disaster continuously.

The performance On Pleasure concentrates on the topic of “pleasure” in the broadest sense, turning towards more abstract forms of sensual experiences. On Pleasure refuses to follow societal learned scripts of what “should” happen in sexual encounters, and celebrates the process itself rather than a preset goal. Through the creation and implementation of several screens and live filming, in addition to costumes, it becomes unclear where a body starts or ends, and how the bodies relate to each other.

By challenging traditional notions of gender and embodiment, Syntia_CAM is a hybrid, an alien, a sex worker, neither fully human nor fully machine. With irony and a touch of playfulness, they use technology to create multiple identities, negotiate rates, share experiences and new forms of agency. Are you ready to witness?
